This position will work standard business hours, Monday through Friday, at our Brady Building in Harrisburg, PA.  A perk of this position includes flexible work arrangements after department training!

The Employment Specialist is responsible for performing all recruitment, selection, and related responsibilities to the employment process.  These duties include applicant review, candidate outreach, extending offers of employment, and much more. The Employment Specialist will help recruit clinical positions for the UPMC Central PA Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary employment consultant for designated departments
  • Choose the most qualified candidates to refer to departments based upon documented objective criteria consistent with the legal requirements, job description, qualifications, and business unit policies in a timelymanner.
  • Review and evaluate candidate applications and/or resume in terms of related experience, education and skill rejecting those not meeting the minimum qualifications on the approved job description.
  • Comply, analyze and prepare reports on the computer and works on special projects as requested.
  • Formulate cost conscious employment advertisements for client departments for publications. Evaluate responses and recommends revisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received within the guidelines of professional recruitment in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.Represent UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC HS sponsored events, etc.), provide the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities.
  • Conduct employment screening interviews for internal and external applicants, of all levels and types of positions, including management.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in human resources operations actively handling recruitment.
    • OR Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required with a preference of one year of human resources operations actively handling recruitment
    • OR Masters degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
    • OR successful completion of the UPMC Summer Associates Program/Pittsburgh Fellows Program required.
  • PHR, SPHR certification, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner Certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.? Experience with applicant tracking or HRIS systems is preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • OAPSA
