Description

Purpose:
Assists the Director of Finance with planning, organizing, directing, and managing the accounting, financial reporting, and operating budget function for UPMC Pinnacle Central Region and Medical Group. Coordinates monthly meetings with the leadership team to review financial results and attends physician practice reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day workload/responsibilities of lower level accounting staff
  • Review staff work and monthly financial statements for various business units
  • Prepare intercompany elimination entries for the consolidated Financial Statements
  • Review monthly account reconciliations and ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 period-end financial reporting control environment is maintained
  • Review and responsible for account analyses to explain financial transactions/results
  • Provide management with financial reports/information as requested
  • Possess in depth knowledge of payables/receivables systems as they relate to the financial results
  • Maintain a general knowledge of healthcare operations to identify financial opportunities for improvement
  • Supervise and train staff. Assist with performance and development actions as needed
  • Approve/coordinate staff requests for time off
  • Assist in updating procedure manual
  • Assist the Manager/Director with conducting semi-annual and annual reviews of all staff members
  • Develop, program and participate in cross training with staff
  • Keep abreast of operational decisions as they affect accounting and reporting

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
  • Three years of progressive experience in accounting required
  • Healthcare and Supervisory experience preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
FHFMA, CHRP or CPA preferred.


Clearances must be dated within 90 days

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
