The System Nursing Resources RN is a member of a casual nursing float pool that supports short term scheduling needs across UPMC Senior Communities in. The System Nursing Resources RN, under direction of a registered nurse, provides routine patient care within the scope of the Practical Nurse Act of Pennsylvania.
- Weekend Off Shift Differential Rate (2nd or 3rd shift): $3.00
- Weekend Shift Differential Rate: $2.00
- Off Shift Differential Rate(2nd or 3rd shift: $2.00
Responsibilities:
- Practice solid communication skills, and is able to articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices.
- Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers. Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the duration of their stay as well as transition to another level of care and/or home.
- Mobility and visual manual dexterity.Physician stamina for frequent walking, standing, listening and positioning.
- Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
- Take personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction by delivering excellent quality of care and service.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
- Assume day-to-day assignments at a variety of UPMC senior communites, congruent with their clinical skills and experience. Establish and maintain positive relationships with managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, nursing colleagues, other departments, as well as patients and families.
Qualifications
- One year of recent/relevant registered nurse experience is required.
- Bachelor's of nursing preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
