Community Sales Representative- Bilingual

Description

The Community Sales Representative will identify key community partners who support UPMC Health Plan goals and objectives. This position assesses the scope of existing community-based relationships, looks for new relationships in the community around targeted populations, while facilitating enrollments. Collaborates with other internal departments in the development and implementation of programs that have a community focus. Creates opportunities to engage with targeted health plan members to engage and influence retention. Coordinates events in the community that promote Medicare Products and engage with prospects for enrollment opportunities. The position reports to the Manager, Medicare/SNP Sales.

This position is located out of our Camp Hill office and the person must be fluent in Spanish. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of training materials related to community relations. Participates in education programs related to scope of community relations department for internal staff and external groups.
  • Assists manager in the development of community based initiatives which support the goals and objectives of UPMC Health Plan.
  • Develops outreach plans and monitors status of assigned projects. Provides written summaries to manager of status on a frequent basis. Provides support to initiatives as requested.
  • Completes in a timely manner required CMS, Pennsylvania Insurance Department or other governmental or regulatory reports on community involvement or events.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy and standards of the UPMC Health Plan, including conveying courtesy, respect, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude through contacts with staff, health plan members, peers and external contacts.
  • Identifies community leaders, organizations and providers who provide services to consumers who may be eligible for UPMC Health Plan products. Provides information on UPMC products and links to appropriate Health Plan departments.
  • Identifies other UPMC resources, community and provider partners who have the ability to support UPMC Health Plan's goals for creating brand awareness and grow membership in a designated territory.
  • Plans, coordinates and implements community health promotion events. Adheres to Department of Public Welfare, Pennsylvania Insurance Department or other governmental or regulatory requirements for participation in community events or incentives. Obtains required approvals prior to events. Maintains documentation. Develops and monitors budgets for events. Collaborates with other UPMC and UPMC Health Plan staff as appropriate. Attends events. Provides health education materials and information on UPMC Health Plan products to interested consumers. Provides written summaries of outcomes of community events.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline or in social services, communications, business. etc and 2-3 years' experience working in a health care or community-based organization required
  • OR high school and six (6) years' experience working in a health care or community-based organization required..
  • Experience working in the field with grassroots organizations is preferred.
  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate community based grassroots relationships that serves seniors and adults with disabilities.
  • Ability to meet enrollment goals while leveraging and building community partnerships with a variety of resource providers.
  • Proven administrative abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision required.
  • A high energy level and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to travel required. Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Will require that an Accident and Health Insurance license be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
