Anesthesia Associate

Our opportunities are regular full-time positions and offer a generous benefits package and a competitive salary.  The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, evening hours 1pm-9:30pm or 2:30pm-11pm. 
Under supervision, performs a variety of entry level duties related to and involving the processing and preparing of room, equipment and supplies for the patients undergoing anesthetic procedures.

  • Retrieves and appropriately distributes the equipment as directed to prepare a patient for anesthesia.
  • Assists in turning over rooms assuring minimal downtime between cases.
  • Helps maintain an adequate supply of all stock items in work room and keeps the work room clean and in an orderly condition.
  • Under supervision disassembles, decontaminates and sterilizes anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Assists in stocking the carts and surgical suites with the required supplies as outlined on the anesthesia surgical suite stock par list.


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months - 1 year of health care experience preferred.
    • If no previous hospital or pre-hospital training, successful completion of UPMC anesthesia technician class required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to progress to an Anesthesia Technician position within 6 months to 1 year of hire.
