Description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is seeking a flex full-time Physician Services Support Specialist to support UPMC Physician Services – Corporate Administration at Forbes Tower in Oakland!

The Physician Services Support Specialist will work an average of 28-32 hours per week. However, during busy seasons (primarily April through September), this role will average 40 hours per week to support operations. The Physician Services Support Specialist will work daylight hours, and will have a hybrid in-office and work-from-home schedule.

The Physician Services Support Specialist processes requests and performs support functions for physician employment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining current and accurate information in the internal databases, troubleshooting in databases, reviewing contract requests, drafting offer letters, processing payroll forms, assisting with physician payroll review, generating appointment forms, and providing general administrative support.

The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience with physician employment, onboarding, and/or contracts, with the ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proficient computer skills are strongly preferred, specifically with Excel and databases. The ability to work independently and strong communication skills are vital to this role, as well.


Responsibilities:

  • Processes requests expeditiously and efficiently according to the established priorities and timeframes.
  • Processes document edits, as requested, and reviews for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews Offer Letters and Offer Letter Cover Forms to ensure that information is accurate and complete.
  • Functions as the expert user for the software applications.
  • Reviews Physician Employment Requests.
  • Assists with database integrity and maintenance.
  • Generates appropriate forms and ensures that information is accurately populated.
  • Manages payroll paperwork and troubleshoots payroll issues.
  • Maintains excellent communication (verbal, written, and electronic) with all customers including, but not limited to, the practitioners, practice managers, and administration.
  • Manages the process for follow-up for offer process and reappointment packets received incomplete.
  • Works closely and builds relationships with the Departments and physicians to assist them with paperwork, as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of work experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Prior support experience preferred.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to manage and prioritize large projects, and ability to meet scheduled timelines and deadlines.
  • Previous experience with physician employment, onboarding, and/or contracts preferred.
