The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Department of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a Full Time Clinician Physician. This position will be permanently located in the Erie Pennsylvania region and will be filled by a critical team member to further grow, build, and develop our existing practice. Our vision is to build a team of clinicians to serve the region. They will be supported by nurses and certified diabetes educators. Staff based in Erie will be an integral part of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and have remote access to educational and CME activities offered on the main Pittsburgh campus.
The Pediatric Endocrinology Division has a multi-decade tradition of excellence and a robust ambulatory practice, being the major referral site for Western Pennsylvania, Northeastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia. The staff includes 21 physicians and 11 advanced practice providers. This program also includes 10 diabetes educators, 4 dieticians, 2 social workers, a clinical psychologist and 7 endocrine nurses. The Pediatric Endocrinology Division has a busy inpatient and consult service and a vibrant Fellowship program (currently with 3 Fellows per year and opportunity to teach virtually). The Division operates in many locations across Western Pennsylvania and is poised for strong growth to provide all children with the best care.
Both the Division of Endocrinology and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh have been consistently ranked in the Top 10 Honor Roll on U.S. News & World Report’s list of “American’s Best Children’s Hospitals” for many years, including the current 2020-21 year.
UPMC Hamot is a 423-bed non-profit tertiary care hospital that offers a full range of inpatient services, including a multidisciplinary critical care team, as well as a variety of outpatient services. It is situated in Erie Pennsylvania which offers an abundance of resources in culture, recreation, and education. Erie and UPMC Hamot overlook Presque Isle Bay and Peninsula.
• Lake Erie offers the perfect setting for boating, water skiing, scuba diving, wind surfing, sailing, and fishing. Close proximity to the Allegheny Mountains affords easy access to Alpine and Nordic skiing.
• Cultural offerings include a symphony orchestra, ballet and dance companies, playhouse theatre groups, and the Presque Isle Downs and Casino. Erie is also home to professional baseball, basketball, and ice hockey teams.
• For children, Erie offers a planetarium, the Erie Zoo, a Children’s Museum, community parks, an amusement park, and indoor and outdoor water parks.
• Erie also has a selection of excellent public, private, and parochial schools, as well as four local colleges and universities.
• Conveniently situated at the intersection of the Northeast and Midwest with close proximity to Cleveland, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Toronto.

Qualifications
The candidate must have completed a Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship and be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology. UPMC offers great benefits packages and competitive salaries based on experience.
