Description

Purpose:
UPMC is hiring Physician Services Lead Support Specialist processes requests for physician employment and maintains a current and accurate information in the database. Functions as the expert user for the software applications. Assists with database integrity and maintenance. Performs processing, data entry and verification functions according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.  The Lead will review and create the offer letters and documents for the Contract Administrator to review for physicians' employment contracts. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops data entry standards to maintain the integrity of the database and completes projects to assure the completeness and accuracy of the data.
  • Performs all the duties of the Physician Services Support Specialist including generating forms, reviewing offer letters, processing document edits, managing payroll paperwork, and other employment functions according to established policies, procedures and guidelines and serves as a role model for the coordinators.
  • Provides initial orientation and ongoing training in the use of the software and for application processing and verification.
  • Processes requests expeditiously and efficiently according to the established priorities and time frames.
  • Functions as the expert user for the software applications and works to resolve software related issues and to maximize the use of the technology and functionality.
  • Resolves day-to-day staff issues and interoffice conflicts as necessary and assures that productivity is not negatively impacted.
  • Maintains excellent communication (verbal, written and electronic) with all customers including, but not limited to, the practitioners, practice managers & administration.
  • Assumes responsibility for the office e-mail and inquiries when requested.
  • Assists with the development, implementation and revision of processes, policies, and procedures to assure the effective and efficient operation of the department.
  • Performs all aspects of physician employment request operations for the department and functions as a resource to the department/practice managers and/or directors.
  • Assists with competency assessment of the staff annually and as necessary.
  • Works in conjunction with UPP Contract Administrators to fully execute employment contracts and exhibits and performs audits to ensure compliance with productivity requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years' work experience required.  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, computer Science or related field preferred
  • Prior support experience preferred in phyiscian contracts or faculty appointments
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Effective communication skills, ability to manage and prioritize large projects and meet scheduled timelines and deadlines
