UPMC is hiring a casual Registered Nurse for its Home Health department in Bedford County and surrounding areas.
Home Health is a great opportunity for a registered nurse looking for flexible scheduling options and providing one-on-one individualized care to patients in their homes.
Purpose:
Responsible for providing individualized care to homebound patients of all ages and diagnoses in their home. The Professional Staff Nurse follows physician orders and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of our clients. Structured orientation and education provided for all staff. Independent visits allow for flexible scheduling within your workday, and clinical oversight is always available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the patient’s home setting
- Thorough head to toe assessments for each patient
- Complete treatment as ordered by physician (ex: wound care, IV therapy, pleurx catheter drainage)
- Provide patient and families with education to help meet their goals of care
- Communicate any change in condition to the physician and home care team timely
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Complete documentation same-day as visit
- Follow-up with completed lab work, physician phone calls, or other concerns
- Order supplies for patients timely and as appropriate
- Request insurance authorization for visits as needed
- Participate in mandatory meetings and complete scheduled education
- Per Diem staff are scheduled to work one weekend a month and two holidays per year per rotation.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredit school of professional nursing required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Six (6) Months of nursing experience in an Acute Care Facility or Skilled Care Facility
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Automotive Insurance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Driver's License
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Act 33
- Act 34
- OAPSA
