ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Advanced Invasive Cardiac Technologist to support the Cardiac Cath Lab at the McCandless location.

 

This position is eligible for a $6,000 Sign-On Bonus with a 2-year commitment!

 

This individual will work 10-hour shifts typically between the hours of 7am-5:30pm, with the ability to stay past the scheduled shift to accommodate patient procedures. This position requires rotating weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts. On-call shifts are self scheduled, 14+ days per 8-week schedule, including 2 weekends on-call Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

 

Purpose:


Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills as well as educate others in their areas of expertise.
  • Serves as a resource for new hires and students.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and perform services at other facilities including on call responsibility.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist II.
  • Works as team member within assigned area to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments.
  • Completes yearly project designed for the service line and or for implementation at the system level, content agreed upon with management. Content areas include but not limited to: evidence based practice change, service line workgroup leadership, quality improvement, and research.
  • Demonstrate mastery of all equipment utilized for procedures.
  • Active role in inventory management as assigned.
  • Assures that annual lead apron testing is completed.
  • Active participation in quality improvement activities for department as well as system level workgroups.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS).
  • 2 years of experience in invasive cardiology, vascular and/or electrophysiology.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

 

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
 

Radiologic Technologist (RT-R). RT-R plus CV certification or RCIS or Cardiovascular Technologist plus RCIS. CPR and ACLS certification is required.

 

  • ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
