Clinician -- Med/Surg 3200

We are hiring a full time Clinician to support our Med/Surg 3200 unit. 3200 is a 24 -bed medical-surgical telemetry unit that cares for a wide variety of medical and post-op patients to include short stay patients.  Although we are a women’s hospital, we care for both women and men in a compassionate, supportive, high tech environment, utilizing protocols to enable both patient and staff safety.  Our post-op patients may be recovering from orthopedic, vascular, urological, gynecological, or bariatric surgeries. Due to the wide variety of services we offer and medical conditions we see, 3200 is a great fit for graduate nurses and nurses seeking to build broad knowledge and/or gain new experience.

-Ensures patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.

- Serves as a leader in clinical nursing practice, identifying patient and staff focused opportunities for improvement and leading the change process.

-Identifies, educates, and supports the psychological and learning needs of staff during change and transition.

-Practices participatory leadership and is an active member of shared leadership at the unit, facility, or system level.

-Assumes formal leadership responsibilities for one or more of the following: quality improvement, evidence-based practice, GN or new hire on-boarding.

-Completes and/or assists with staff performance evaluations for direct reports as applicable



- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required.

- 2 years of Med/Surg or Stepdown experience HIGHLY preferred

- Master's degree preferred. BS/BSN required. If BS degree is not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.

- National Certification preferred.

- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

- Registered Nurse (RN)

- Act 33 with renewal

- Act 34 with renewal

- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
