Our team at Seneca Place Verona is looking for an Environmental Services Associate Team Leader with excellent customer service skills and a dedication to resident comfort.  In this role, you will ensure the assigned areas are properly cleaned according to the shift responsibilities checklist and procedures established by the Environmental Services Department, and facilitate in-shift and cross-shift communication and follow-up with housekeeping needs (discharge cleanings, etc.) with Environmental Services Associates and EVS Supervisor.

  • In the absence of the shift supervisor, temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of the shift supervisor.
  • Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
  • Communicate with unit personnel and other departments regarding specific needs in order to complete assignments.
  • Ensure that the daily work of all team members is assigned and that team members are working in the assigned area.
  • Ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available for subordinates. Report all problems to the shift supervisor.
  • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
  • During shifts, communicate with co-workers, nursing, and other departments regarding specific needs for the shift.
  • Ensure extra assignments are completed as necessary (discharge cleanings, wheelchairs put out by shift change for cleaning as per schedule, carpet scrubbing per schedule, etc.)
  • Round on all floors during shifts, communicating with the in-charge nurse and other staff regarding housekeeping needs and keeping them aware of the location and how to contact in the event of housekeeping needs.
  • Complete end-of-shift report and forward to EVS Supervisor daily (when working).
  • Contact Emergency Maintenance number in the event of urgent maintenance needs as per facility procedures.
  • Complete non-emergency maintenance requests by completing the appropriate form and submitting it to the EVS Supervisor at end of shift.
  • Report all emergency and non-emergency housekeeping issues (general maintenance, equipment issues, needed supplies, etc.) to EVS Supervisor via end of shift report.
  • Assist with the Orientation and training of new 2nd and 3rd shift staff as needed at the direction of the EVS Supervisor.
  • Continue personal skill development (learning new equipment, procedures) in coordination with the EVS Supervisor.
  • Become knowledgeable of and responsible for ensuring that proper set-up/discontinuation of Isolation boxes, Chemo carts, etc. occurs when necessary during off-shifts including setting up equipment and ensuring equipment is returned to proper storage locations upon discontinuation.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, including Covid, PPE, and Infection Control procedures, reporting problems/concerns/needs to the EVS supervisor via end of shift report/email.
  • Comply with all Facility/Department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.



  • HS Diploma/GED preferred
  • 2 years relevant experience required
