Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred. RCIS, ACLS, and BLS certifications are preferred.
Sign-On Bonus Details:
$10,000 with a 2-year work commitment.
Purpose:
Assist the cardiologist in performing all aspects of invasive procedures including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterization, and interventional procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Fulfill continuing education requirements as required to maintain department competencies.
- Communicate appropriately with all members of the healthcare team.
- Aid in the transport of patients to and from the Cath Lab to expedite timely operations of the department.
- Prepare trays and room for procedures.
- Enter patient information into the Cath Lab computer system, monitor patients throughout the procedure, and document all parts of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system.
- Support information gathering for research patients.
- Aid in the orientation of all new and visiting personnel including nursing students, medical students, EMT's and paramedics.
- Monitor patients throughout the procedure include pre and post-procedure.
- Operate equipment appropriate for the procedure (fluro equipment, film processor and/or filmless system, defibrillator, monitoring equipment, and interventional devices).
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to cardiac patients.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion with accuracy.
- Assist the cardiologist in performing all aspects of invasive procedures including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterization, and interventional procedures.
- Communicate vital patient information to physician i.e. blood pressure, heart rhythms.
- Prepare patient for the procedure, explain the procedure and provide procedure instructions.
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited technical program (Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program) is required. Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
RCIS certification preferred, required within 3 months of hire date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
