Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC continues to comply with governmental guidance related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. All employees and affiliated staff of UPMC entities are considered essential health care workers and will be accountable to follow the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) federal vaccine mandate. To be compliant with the federal mandate, employees must complete the approved vaccination dosage regimen currently defined by the federal government. Compliance with the federal mandate is encouraged before hire. Medical and religious exemption requests may be submitted for consideration.

Stores Clerk I - Western Psychiatric Hospital



The Store Clerk I is responsible for the sorting, preparation, delivery, and pickup of mail and supplies for the UPMC Health System.

This is a Union position with a set Union pay rate of $13.40.


  • Ensures signed documentation is obtained with all appropriate correspondence.
  • Sort and prepare mail for all WPIC facilities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures mail deliveries are completed to all WPIC facilities in a timely manner.
  • Handles all telephone requests in a professional manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the distribution supervisor.
  • Prepare all outgoing mail.
  • Prepare and process mail from US Postal Service.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the health systems departments and locations.
  • Pick up and deliver equipment and supplies throughout WPIC.
  • Displays a professional and courteous manner during interactions with all hospital personnel.


  • High school education or equivalent and one year of data entry/clerical experience required.
  • Must be able to communicate and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Work history must have evidence of dependability.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • A valid PA driver's license is preferred.
