Description
The Part Time Research Specialist will be responsible for assisting with multiple aspects of a NIH-funded study examining sleep, circadian rhythms, brain function, mood, and behavior in adolescents. This individual would have a primary responsibility for assisting with clinical interviews and instructing the adolescent participants about the behavioral intervention. The Research Specialist will work closely with the study coordinator, other research staff, and the data manager, as well as with the staff of the Sleep and Behavioral Neuroscience Center and the Magnetic Resonance Research Center.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
- Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.
- Conducting diagnostic interviews (including psychiatric, sleep, and substance-oriented structured interviews) and delivering the behavioral intervention.
- Assisting with recruiting and enrolling participants, conducting study visits, and following participants through study completion.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to ensure adequate numbers of assessments as outlined in the protocol.
- Performs other research duties as assigned.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred
- Experience with adolescents and/or families is preferred
- Prior supervisory and/or project management experience preferred
- Knowledge of DSM-5 preferred
- Ability to work evenings (including potentially on some Sundays)
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
