Description

We are in search of a highly motivated Financial Analyst, Senior who is ready to take their career to the next level in a fast-growing company. This role would work daylight hours Monday-Friday and offers some work from home flexibility. 

As part of the UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Finance team, this analyst will serve as a primary financial support person for UPMC Health Services Division (HSD) quality improvement initiatives, in part by functioning as a liaison between Finance, Wolff Center, Revenue Cycle/HIM, Physician staff and other HSD leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support HSD efforts to optimize UPMC clinical documentation, coding, and billing, specifically as it relates to various CMS- and payer-driven quality programs, e.g., Pay-for-Performance, Bundled Payments, Quality Incentives/Payment Reductions.
  • Analyze complex clinical / financial data to extract and communicate relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past clinical / financial performance, and/or to project a future activity.  Examples include but are not limited to cost of care/pathway assessments, cost/benefit and return-on-investment analyses, and staffing projections.
  • Perform statistical analysis of clinical utilization, quality, and financial data.  Summarize and convey key findings and conclusions to a non­technical audience of both internal and external customers and, at times, senior management.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related work experience.
  • Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required, and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPA/MBA preferred.
