UPMC is hiring a 340B Program Manager, 340B Pharmacy Informatics.  This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and creating innovative solutions to connect data sources for 340B program integrity. Additionally, this role will have operational accountability and process development of the 340B program.  This position is Monday through Friday during normal business hours.  While it is based in the US Steel Tower, remote work is an option.


  • Work with strategic partners to optimize the return of the 340B program. Develop and maintain internal compliance programs, including self-audit processes, for all participating Hospitals.
  • Analyzes and oversee the utilization of technological solutions in place for 340B program facilitation (e.g., Split billing Software, contract pharmacy software). Serve as the primary conduit for issues, programs, and information exchange for pharmacy services to assure consistent system-wide performance.
  • Develop and enhance, in collaboration with Information Services, new and innovative methods for facilitating the 340B operations and oversight of the 340B program. Represent pharmacy in committees overseeing strategic initiatives impacting system-wide pharmacy services.
  • Interface with internal and external clients to ensure optimal performance of all 340B pharmacy services across UPMC. Serve as the team's primary contact and subject matter expert for health system informatics.
  • Assume the role of liaison between the 340B team and system-wide IT teams and software vendors, motivating and steering change to align with strategic objectives. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of essential reporting systems supporting financial, operational, and clinical data such as Aria, Epic, Cerner and Medipac.
  • Collaborate to optimize and standardize data extracts and configurations, ensuring proper access to all EMR and TPA systems with frequent monitoring and maintenance.
  • Exhibit advanced knowledge of health information system design and database management. Develop and deploy reporting tools to aid in dissemination of program metrics including but not limited to savings, WAC spend and pricing/inventory issues.
  • Display proficiency in data visualization software such as Power BI and Tableau. Actively participate in team and system enhancement projects such as vendor RFPs.



  • Bachelor of Science and five years of hospital pharmacy operations, informatics and/or 340B pharmacy experience required OR Pharm D and one year Pharmacy Residency
  • Strong management, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electronic medical records.
  • Ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, overseeing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
  • Strategic planning skills required.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to influence others.
