UPMC Health Plan and their Compliance group's growing ERM team has an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Risk Management Analyst!

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Analyst reports to the Sr. Manager, ERM.  This position strategically supports all critical departmental activities for the ERM department within UPMC Insurance Services Division.  The ideal candidate would have an interest in the field of ERM and some knowledge, background or experience in finance/accounting, actuarial science, and/or risk management.  Personal attributes for success are someone who: enjoys working in-person with people, has good project management skills, enjoys learning and problem-solving

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement of in-office and work-from-home. 


  • Support various risk and governance committees that interact with the ERM program to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop the organization's ERM policies and strategies in alignment with applicable regulations, standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization.
  • Develop and enhance ERM tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report on enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to the established risk framework.
  • Act as a representative for the department on ERM activities.
  • Supports risk monitoring and assessments.
  • Risk communications through dashboards and presentations.
  • Manages ERM departmental data and records.
  • Collaborates with other departments to support risk activities.
  • Project management of special projects and assignments.
  • Performs job in accordance with UPMC system-wide competencies/behaviors.




Educational/Knowledge Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required in finance, audit, actuarial science, or risk management required
    • Relevant graduate degree (e.g., Master’s degree in a related field) preferred.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in financial services or insurance preferred.
  • Excellent oral, listening and written communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities/projects in a fast-paced professional environment and meet time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual and as a member of a team and interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management and staff.
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, self-awareness and ethical behavior.
  • Strong analytical, project management and organization skills.
  • Must be a good problem-solver and capable partner/advisor to the business.

Relevant certifications preferred:

  • Financial certifications such as CPA/CMA
  • Actuarial certifications such as ASA/CERA
  • Risk management certifications such as CISA/CIA/CISM/CRMA (etc.)
