UPMC Corporate Human Resources is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst Senior to join our team!  This role will work Monday through Friday during business hours.   The opportunity is a remote position, however if you can work on site at the US Steel Tower if that is best for you.

The Business Intelligence Analyst Senior plays a critical role in decision support and driving strategic and operational decisions across Human Resources and UPMC by researching and analyzing issues and identifying areas of focus for the organization.

  • Responsible for the development, execution, and management of advanced reporting
  • Compile and QA data utilized for periodic scheduled and ad hoc reporting
  • Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies
  • Identify trends that will help managers and executives make business decisions to improve outcomes/processes in the organization.
  • Develop deep understanding of data contained within multiple systems and detailed understanding of multiple HCM Cloud application modules
  • Work with end users to translate business requirements into technical requirements for advanced custom reports
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to find solutions to business inquiries
  • Provide insight for process improvements across functional areas
  • Act as a liaison with co-workers on technical and data specialist teams to address issues
  • Develop and execute testing plans prior to the release of new reports.
  • Perform annual review of reports and dashboards for relevancy and enhancements
  • Participate in cross-functional projects that address key business initiatives.
  • Serve as resource for Associate and Intermediate roles.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Accounting or a related field required and three years of experience with business intelligence tools such as Cognos, OTBI, BI Publisher, Cloud Analytics and complex data analysis required.
    • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience with business intelligence tools such as Cognos, OTBI, BI Publisher, Cloud Analytics and complex data analysis required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills required.
  • Advanced level of computer and Excel skills required.
  • Advanced/expert knowledge of SQL required.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated to exceed expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environmentAttention to detail is a critical.
  • Fusion Analytics Warehouse (FAW) experience preferred.
