We are searching for a Nurse Recruiter to join our UPMC Nursing Talent Strategies Team!  This is a regular, full-time position that primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with flexible work arrangements!

The Nurse Recruiter is responsible for comprehensive employment related consultation, recruitment, selection, and support to the nursing employment process. They will focus on and be held accountable to goals for building meaningful and collaborative relationships with key partners on college and university campuses and within the business, early identification programs, and engaging with students in order to build strong talent pipelines leading to increased market capture at top target schools. Additionally, they will lead recruitment strategies and provide a top-notch candidate and programmatic experience to ensure these goals are met.

  • Independently represent all of UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC sponsored events, and conferences, including state and national events). Provide the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Serve as the primary employment consultant for designated departments regarding recruitment policies, procedures and legal/regulatory standards.
  • Quickly engage with candidates and present UPMC as an employer of choice, articulating UPMC's Total Rewards program to candidates.
  • Responsible for building a culture rooted in Dignity and Respect and for holding team members accountable to the same.
  • Clearly articulate job responsibilities to applicants.
  • Choose the most qualified candidates to refer to departments based upon documented objective criteria consistent with the legal requirements, job description, qualifications, and business unit policies in a timely manner.
  • Guide and mentor team members to encourage professional development.
  • Conduct employment screening interviews for internal and external applicants.
  • Create or facilitate job postings. Confirm requested job requirements with those on the approved job description to assure correct information is posted.



  • Actively licensed Registered Nurse required.
  • BSN is strongly preferred.
  • One year of nursing experience is required.
  • Proficiency with recruitment related software and database mining preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Current RN in PA required
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 34
