Special Services Lead

Description


Assists individual residents with daily activities, preserving dignity and confidentiality. Assist the Special Services Coordinator with resident requests, staff assignments and operational duties.The Lead must have an appreciation for elderly people, a genuine desire to serve the elderly and demonstrate the ability to accept and promote the mission and philosophy of Sherwood Oaks.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Reports all pertinent information regarding resident?s physical and psychological condition to the appropriate Sherwood Oaks personnel.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), housekeeping, shopping, laundry, and transportation as requested.
  • Becomes familiar with and follows those policies, procedures, and manuals of Sherwood Oaks that relate to service provided to the resident.
  • Orients and trains new Companions to the Special Services department as assigned.
  • Responds promptly with courtesy and respect to the individual needs of the resident. Schedules staff assignments in the absence of the Special Services Coordinator.
  • Accompanies resident to facility activities and personal appointments, and encourages resident participation in independent or group activities and social events when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates all required Home Care Aide competencies, as stated in the Home Care Agency regulations, as part of an annual review.
  • Becomes familiar with and follows those policies, procedures, and manuals of Sherwood Oaks that relate to service provided to the resident.
  • Completes scheduling and billing duties in the absence of the Special Services Coordinator.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), housekeeping, shopping, laundry, and transportation as requested.

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required Certified Nursing Assistant preferred Good organizational skills and knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
  • OAPSA
