Purpose:
UPMC Physician Service Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine is hiring full-time Research Associate. Assist in the execution of research protocols and services. Our department has many diverse levels of positions (entry, experienced, etc.). Plenty of growth factors within if candidate was looking for long term positions within the team. We also have opportunity for students looking to continue education within medical fields. Standard hours Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. As this is a surgical department, candidate will be required to come in early (Pre-surgery), stay late (post-surgical). Hours are flexible but within department needs
Responsibilities:
- Contact and schedule potential participants from a designated pool of individuals who have agreed to be contacted for research studies.
- Conduct subject searches to locate subjects who are unable to be contacted.
- Explain research protocol and obtain informed consent from participants.
- Conduct on-line and/or library searches as needed by the PI as necessary.
- Perform phone interviews for research project protocol(s) as needed.
- Maintain and update subject information database.
- Conduct interviews with research participants under supervision as needed.
- We have an increasing amount of research studies that will require overnight work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in neuroscience, biology, or related science field or current enrollment in a related bachelor's degree program with direct experience in a research environment required.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required
- Prior related work experience in research setting preferred not required
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred
