UPMC Altoona is hiring a casual Registered Nurse to help support our T10 Med/Surg Cardiac unit!
T10 is a fast-paced 47 bed acute care, Med/Surg Cardiac unit. We care for adults with acute and chronic conditions spanning a wide variety of diagnosis. Our patient population consists of, but is not limited to, renal insufficiency, sepsis, CHF, wound care, respiratory conditions, behavioral health patients with medical conditions and general surgical procedures. We are NIHSS certified to care for stable stroke patients. Our team is trained in telemetry monitoring to care for cardiac patients such as cardiac catheterizations. T10 offers a broad spectrum of experiences enabling the development of adaptability, organizational and time management skills.
Purpose:
Provides direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Provides leadership for the nursing team, and contributes to the education of a variety of members of the staff and students.
Responsibilities:
- Document/records appropriate information required in performance of responsibilities in relation to the job description.
- General nursing ability.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to adapt to clinical treatment and instructional aspect of care to all stages of the life cycle and to various states of health and disease.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year experience
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Act 34
