UPMC continues to comply with governmental guidance related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. Neurohospitalist

Description

UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services, Inc. seeks a Neurohospitalist to provide comprehensive, inpatient medical care to patients with neurological illnesses, including hospitalized stroke patients and noncritical patients admitted with neurological conditions; perform neurodiagnostic techniques and communicate the results to his patients; establish treatment and prevention plans that aim to restore patient brain or neurological functions to full capacity; provide various neurological therapies, medications, and ongoing, collaborative care with other medical professionals; counsel and assist patients in managing irreversible or degenerative diseases of the brain and nervous system; round on General Neurology patients, performing consults and providing some stroke service coverage.

 

Job Responsibilities:  

 

  • Provide comprehensive, inpatient medical care to patients with neurological illnesses, including hospitalized stroke patients and noncritical patients admitted with neurological conditions;
  • Perform neurodiagnostic techniques and communicate the results to his patients;
  • Establish treatment and prevention plans that aim to restore patient brain or neurological functions to full capacity;

  • Counsel and assist patients in managing irreversible or degenerative diseases of the brain and nervous system;
  • Round on General Neurology patients, performing consults and providing some stroke service coverage.

Qualifications

- Must have a Medical degree or equivalent;

- Must have completed a residency in Neurology;

- Must be Board certified or eligible for certification in Neurology;

- Must have a valid PA medical license and BLS.
