Description

Job Description/Summary/Objectives: University of Pittsburgh Physicians seeks a Cardiologist (Electrophysiologist) to diagnose and treat electrical abnormalities in the heart that control heart rhythm and trigger heartbeats, provide clinical care, design, manage and perform surgical procedures, and monitor patients with irregular heart rhythms and other cardiac rhythmic disorders; perform specialized procedures on patients whose cardiac devices require extraction due to infection or venous obstruction.    

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat electrical abnormalities in the heart that control heart rhythm and trigger heartbeats, provide clinical care, design, manage and perform surgical procedures, and monitor patients with irregular heart rhythms and other cardiac rhythmic disorders;
  • perform specialized procedures on patients whose cardiac devices require extraction due to infection or venous obstruction.  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications and Licensure/Certification

  • Must have a Medical degree or equivalent;
  • Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine;
  • Must have completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology;
  • Must have a valid PA medical license.
