Description
Purpose:
Evaluates and integrates current educational practices related to cancer control, patient care, and prevention.
Travel required, evenings and weekends as needed based on patient's needs. The core hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Design and evaluate new activities that address identified needs for public (elementary and middle school) education.
- Develop innovative approaches to evaluate educational programs.
- Design research that evaluates and integrates current educational practices related to cancer control, patient care, and prevention.
- Compile and evaluate current cancer control and prevention resources and develops new resources as needed.
- Update content as current information/research becomes available.
- Present information to school audiences as requested.
- Support the academic, research, and clinical mission, philosophy, and activities of UPMC Health System and UPCI.
- Communicate curriculum of program to schools throughout the the York and Hanover region.
Qualifications
BA or BS degree in Science, Health, Health Education, Journalism, English or a related field. 2 years of experience teaching at the elementary or middle school level including teaching which could be as a volunteer at Sunday School or YWCA type organization. Early development experience desired.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
