Description

Purpose:
Under the direction of management and more senior members of the team, the Systems Engineer Intermediate maintains systems, participate in projects, provides end user support, contributes to team documentation, and seeks out process improvement. Responsible for participating in testing proofs of concept or evaluating new technologies.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Typically has 2+ years' experience with complex systems environments through education or practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform standard IT procedures and protocols.
  • This position may be required to maintain a 24/7 off hours support as part of a rotation within the team. The frequency varies based upon the number of colleagues in the rotation.
  • Experience working with Virtualization (VMware vSphere preferred)
  • Configure, manage, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure in a large VMware environment
  • Troubleshoot ESXi host performance and virtual machine related issues
  • Working knowledge of object oriented and scripting languages such as PowerShell, ruby, bash, PHP, python
  • Experience working with Hyper converged Infrastructure (HCI), Storage Technologies (vSAN, SAN), Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure), Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux Server a plus
  • Perform required maintenance off hours and support 24x7 operations in accordance with established schedules and best practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking skills, and strong technical learning aptitude
  • Strong team player capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
