UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring full-time Sr Medical Student Coordinator for the Neurology Division location in Oakland, PA. Provides coordination and administrative assistance and management of all office activities for the department's medical student program director as well as that of the coordinator of faculty development. Acts as a liaison between the department, UPMC Physician Services Division and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.


  • Medical Student rotation schedules and teaching materials must be developed, reviewed, edited and forwarded on a timely basis.
  • Process student evaluation forms, completed by faculty, on a timely basis in accordance with deadlines as outlined by the Deans' Office, School of Medicine. Enter evaluations into database after each rotation.
  • Provides comprehensive administrative support for the education office and has primary responsibility for various databases and information collection tools.
  • Record final grades, codes, and files for each student and course. Prepare and submit official grade rosters to the University's Registrar's Office.
  • Assists Vice Chair for Education, Director of Medical Student Programs and Project Manager in the Office of Education with special projects and additional assignments related to education.
  • Ensure daily coordination and administrative oversight of all regulatory, compliance and accreditation activities associated with the Department's medical students. Acts as Liaison to the Office of Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
  • Accurately administer and correct written exams.
  • Plan, schedule and oversee all of the department's medical school courses, including the seven-week clinical procedures course, two-week mandatory clerkship, four-week electives, and several specialized teaching sessions held year-round.
  • Liaison with the Office of Student Affairs at the School of Medicine.



  • Associate's degree in business, education or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a related area, primarily in an academic program office, or medical setting required. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making and communication skills. Ability to make independent decisions regarding established policies of the medical student and faculty development programs. Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Prior EPIC experience preferred 
  • Stong MS software experience
