Our Supply Chain team is looking for a night shift Distribution Specialist to join their team! This role will focus primarily on driving supplies in a 26 foot box truck. This role will also manage all tasks associated with the movement of supplies and equipment throughout the UPMC Health System facilities, vendors, and other outside parties. They will provide verification of orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and the routing of all inbound and outbound materials and or equipment. This position will maintain accurate inventory levels of all stores items located in the Central Distribution Center (CDC) as well as local stocking locations within specified departments.
The role is Sunday through Thursday from 6:00pm-2:00am with overtime. With the overnight shift, this role is eligible for additional compensation.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy of all inbound freight.
- Ensuring quality at the end line staging area as a dock master effectively directing product to its final destination.
- Ensures to maintain an error ratio less than .05% contributing to the overall warehouse goal less than .05% errors.
- Ensures customer service levels are met by maintaining the scheduled delivery times at respective UPMC facilities.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles at specified locations throughout the UPMC Health System.
- Handle all communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain DOT regulated licensing requirements
- Direct use of a laptop computer operating a Management Service Console to control voice directed picking operations.
- Deliver all materials and or equipment to requesting customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Comply with all local, cities, and state traffic regulations while operating UPMC vehicles.
- Ensures to conform to the departmental attendance policy established November 17, 2009 by UPMC Supply Chain Management.
- Ensures proper technique is utilized in repackaging and/or staging of product for delivery to hospitals to ensure minimal product loss and damage.
- Directly contributes to the receiving optimization project reducing redundancy in the distribution of product to the hospitals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensures customer service levels are met by delivering product damage free and placed in proper designated secure areas.
- Deliver product to hospitals operating 26 foot box trucks
- Work to conform to all policies and procedures established by the Purchasing/Materials Management department.
- Ensures returned product, totes, and pallets are picked up and returned daily to the designated areas in warehouse.
- Maintain a professional attitude during all interactions with hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
- All assigned receipts are completed each day, contributing to a receiving department goal of zero overtime.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the department's inventory and receiving modules.
- Manage all distribution centers equipment is properly maintained.
- Contributes towards achieving overall warehouse productivity of 40 Lines Per Hour.
- Operate heavy lift equipment at heights above 25 feet
- Fill stores requisitions, stock shelves, and participates in physical inventories.
- Process the general shipping of all outbound freight.
- Participates actively in maintaining cleanliness standards in the warehouse.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year warehousing experience.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to handle heavy material using manual and mechanized material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects along with no work limitations.
- Good communication skills are required.
- May in the course of their duties have access to medications through distributions of supplies and parental solutions in secured areas.
- Their role is limited to the distribution and restocking of these supplies in the secured locations.
