Description
Purpose:
This office is a 24-hour operation that includes rotating weekends and holidays. While flexibility to adjust shifts is required, the Telephone Operator Lead working for evening shift 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. These shift hours leave flexibility to leave your days open, while being able to work full-time hours! Serves as main point of contact with the public and with all hospital departments in routine as well as emergency situations. Acts as a resource for other telephone operators, trains new operators and schedules switchboard coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain current procedures for internal and external disasters, fire emergencies, bomb scares and disaster plans.
- Provide relief coverage to support staff.
- Perform all functions of Telephone Operator.
- Monitor new employee training and certifies trainees' competencies through demonstration of performance.
- Handle immediate problems and direct problems to department head.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience answering, and processing calls through automated phone system. Must be able to work all shifts, seven days a week. Ability to interpret procedure manuals (i.e. fire, trouble, disaster, etc.).
