Description
Purpose:
This position implements the information services project task(s) for specific business sponsors and supports these business units. The Associate Project Manager leads the activities associated with a single project or part of a larger program, with project complexity ranging from simple to moderately complex. The goal is to ensure that the business receives the full benefit of the task(s) and that the task(s) is/are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Process OrientedUtilizes organizational and PMO processes and standards to provide consistent and excellent project management services. Understands the need and value to continually define and/or improve processes.
- Relevant Technical/Business KnowledgeExperience in a similar technical/industry. Demonstrates financial awareness. Working knowledge of analytical and problem-solving techniques and tools.
- Team Leadership/DevelopmentAbility to organize, manage, and lead the project team to sucess. Supports project team members and colleagues. Builds strong relationships with colleagues and IT partners. Skillfully handles situations and creates positive outcomes. Demonstrates self-awareness. Provides mentoring and support to others in areas of expertise.
- Project Planning and ManagementExperienced in planning and managing project scope, schedules, resources, budget, issues, and risks. Understands need and value of attention to detail. Proactively identifies and addresses project risks. Utilizes change management to control scope and communicate scope changes. Tracks and reports project progress, and forecast trends.
- Client RelationshipsUnderstands project objectives, and business value, from the user's point of view. Is customer focused. Builds trusted relationships with users.
- CommunicationExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including summaries, presentations, and executive reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of project management through college studies or related work experience required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
