Description

Purpose:
Manage and engage associates in the information representative and greeter operations with a focus on patient, customer, and associate satisfaction. Responsible for the management of information desks and entry screening processes that ensure safe, high-quality visits for patients, visitors, and staff. Maintain a friendly and welcoming environment that exemplifies the UPMC Experience. Prepare work and vacation schedules, perform performance evaluations and competency reviews, inspect job flows and work assignments. Train, coach, and direct associates and supervisors in the reporting area.

Responsibilities:

  • Documents and enforces corrective action measures for associates.
  • Supervise information desk staff including employee performance evaluations and payroll approval for UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.
  • Manages and maintains customer service systems that provide for high-quality, high-satisfaction outcomes.
  • Trains and orients newly hired associates.
  • Develop strategies and process improvement initiatives to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Conducts and attends staff meetings and participates in the implementation of activities within the hospitals as requested by the Director.
  • Ensure all supplies necessary for the operation, safety, and quality of patient, visitor, and associate experiences are adequately stocked and secured
  • Requests interviews and makes decisions on hiring new associates.
  • Resolve complaints/conflicts and keep Director informed.
  • Ensure all operations are in line with the budget and analyze operational tools to develop more efficient, higher quality workflows
  • Completes any other assignments or projects as directed.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Public Relations, Customer Service, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of total experience in public relations or customer service-based roles, including 3 years of prior supervisory experience required.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
