Director, Medicare Broker Sales

Description

Purpose:
This position is responsible for leading the overall sales and strategy for external broker sales. Responsibilities include the direct oversight of external broker sales distribution, prospecting, recruiting, and input into marketing material development for external broker use.

*This position is not 100% remote eligible- expectation to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week, as well as regional travel requirements to meet with vendors and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Essential Medicare Sales Functions: Achievement of Medicare broker sales goals. Participate in developing annul membership targets. Management of Broker Sales Managers and staff.
  • Develop and update the overall business plans/strategies. Participate in the development of training programs for external sales distribution channel. In conjunction with commercial sales department, develop strategies for employer group regarding retiree offerings.
  • Comply with sales regulatory requirements. Ensure proper resources are available (i.e. hiring, training and managing). Develop/maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the identification and creation of new products to satisfy market needs and collaborate with Product Development.
  • Develop and update the overall business plan/strategies. Collaborate with Marketing in the creation of sales and marketing materials. 
  • Ensure proper resources are available (i.e. hiring, training and managing). Develop/maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Additional Functions: Develop and manage effective relations across Medicare department functions, with Commercial Sales, interdepartmental functions, outside vendors and brokers.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Masters of Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of five years sales and marketing management experience in the Medicare health insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a business unit and broker relationships.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing external sales distribution channels.
  • Demonstrated ability in product management including experience with product life cycles from inception (marketing research) through introduction and eventual replacement.
  • Financial/marketing analysis experience.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and take directions from Senior Management.
  • Desire to continue upward progression within organization.
