UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity foer a Manager, Statutory Reporting position in the Medicaid department. This is a full time position working daylight hours. This is a hybrid position working both in office and at home.
The Manager Statutory Reporting will assist the department with day-to-day oversight responsibilities of providing responsive and timely reporting, data analysis and operations support to guide the overall strategic direction of the Health Plan products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop regulatory knowledge to support senior leadership with management of financial/analytical regulatory reporting, partnering with DHS to understand how the statutory financial reports are utilized and provide recommendations for improving contractual monitoring to meet program and business objectives.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of DHS financial reporting requirements and how to interpret and apply them to filings.
- Ensure accurate and timely submissions for all regulatory reporting.
- Serve as a financial contact with OLTL?s finance division for financial reporting requirements and contract monitoring.
- Lead the annual contract audit and frequently communicate with leadership on any findings or concerns with contractual compliance.
- Thoroughly develop, manage, maintain and monitor key business practices put in place to optimize financial reporting and the impact it has on rate setting.
- Work directly with the Encounter team to reconcile claims/encounter data to the financial reporting submissions.
- Work in partnership with the Finance team, operations, and clinical leadership and management in analyzing utilization and medical trends to forecast cost and utilization patterns in accordance with DHS?s reporting requirements in order to maximize clinical and operational intervention opportunities.
- Provide key information to senior management in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Monitor staff to ensure they are able to provide key business recommendations based on outcomes of their analysis.
- Develop and mentor staffs? skills and career goals.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- CPA is preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience with preferred focus on statutory accounting.
- Ideal candidate will have a background in health insurance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SQL is considered highly attractive.
- Experience buildings teams and developing talent.
- Intellectually curious, strong analytical, reconciliation and multi-tasking skills, and experience in a fast-paced environment.
