UPMC Rx Partners is looking for a full time Inventory Technician to join their growing team!
The Inventory Tech will order, receive, deliver and monitor inventory of medical surgical and operating room supplies. Participate and assure the provision of accurate and effective services to all departments. Establish and maintain an effective relationship with Southside Purchasing. Maintain accurate reports related to ordering, shipping, receiving and delivery of supplies.
This role will work four - ten hour days, with one weekday off.

Responsibilities:
- Order supplies from Southside Distribution for all areas within hospital.(Nursing units, handhelds).
- Participate in maintaining BinStations. Review reports and report issues/concerns.
- Act as a resource for all departments, Southside buyers and warehouse.
- Utilize PeopleSoft to obtain information regarding supplies for Southside warehouse.
- Participate in the retrieval of manufacturer recalled items.
- Ensure accuracy of what is ordered and delivered.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders and packing slips.
- Maintain master file with list of vendors and where supplies are ordered. (Southside Warehouse, Owens and Minor, etc.)
- Ensure cart sheets and PAR levels are kept up to date.
- Manually key all patient charges which include temporary charges, specialty bed and passive range of motion machines.
- Ensure effective running of copiers. Call for repairs as needed.
- Order and supply copiers with paper, toner and staples.
- Limited access to medications in supply areas.
- Notify FedEx and/or courier for all pick ups.
- Order and maintain a just-in-time inventory of medical/surgical supplies.
- Enter receiving purchase orders into PeopleSoft Program.
- Troubleshoot all potential problems and ensure thorough and appropriate follow through and communication.
- Participate with the implementation of new products and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
- Receive, check and sign for all deliveries.
- Prepare packages for UPS pick ups.
- Notify and deliver all electrical equipment to be checked by Biomed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills to include; Internet, Microsoft Word and an inventory software system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous inventory experience preferred.
- May in the course of their duties have access to medications through distributions of supplies and parental solutions in secured areas.
- Their role is limited to the distribution and restocking of these supplies in the secured locations.
