Purpose:
Performs chain-of-custody collection of urine for non-NIDA drug screening tests. Performs blood phlebotomy for both WCA employees and industrial clients. Assists with clerical duties. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. (Refer to department/unit Specific Scope of Service.)
Responsibilities:
- Currently performs chain-of-custody urine collection for both NIDA and non-NIDA drug screening tests. Prepares drug test report form and chart for MRO review
- Maintains drug testing log book. Monitor for receipt of test results from Lab; interface with Lab regarding problems.
- Transports samples to Laboratory via pneumatic tube system in Outpatient area, monitor and maintain Quest Lab printer.
- When time allows, files reports, pulls charts, files charts, assists with annual employee notices and general office duties as requested.
- Initiates and maintains the ordering of adequate supplies.
- Performs blood phlebotomy on WCA employees and industrial clients.
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- DOT Urine drug testing certification to be obtained within 3 months.
- On-the-job chain-of-custody collections training.
- Ability to correctly file alphabetically.
- Breath Alcohol Certification encouraged.
- Familiarity with phlebotomy station and requirements.
- Familiarity with OSHA and state standards, including blood borne pathogens.
- Familiarity with DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations.
