Family Hospice is currently hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support their inpatient hospice unit at Canterbury Place!
This position works 3 12-hour shifts per week with rotating holidays and weekends required!

Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient needs in relation to symptom management, comfort, emotional and psycho-social problems. Develops a Multidisciplinary Plan of Care to ensure that professional standards are met and that care is implemented in the most optimal way.
- Maintains a continuing and confidential record of patient's care, progress and outcomes in compliance with federal, state and FHPC regulations, policies and procedures.
- Provides direct patient care by administering oral, intramuscular, and intravenous medications and by performing a variety of treatments and procedures to assure comfort and symptom control.
- Determines daily work schedule to ensure excellent quality of patient care and maximum number of patient visits per day.
- Determines the need for assignment of a licensed practical nurse and/or home health aide or other health care professional and coordinates their participation in the patient's care.
- Evaluates the Plan of Care and implements and/or coordinates changes as necessary. Involves the interdisciplinary team in discussion of the patient's needs and implementation of changes.
- Provides home health teaching and appropriate counseling for the patient and family regarding the unique care needs of the patient.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or diploma in nursing from an approved school of nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing program from an approved school of nursing preferred.
- Current PA RN licensure.
- Minimum 6 months of clinical experience performing direct patient care services including invasive procedures and developing therapeutic programs preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
UPMC approved national certification preferred. Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
