We are currently hiring a Full-time Professional Staff Nurse to support the Uro Gynecology Hospital Clinic at our Oakland location. This is a busy urogynecology practice with nationally renowned physicians and a solid, competitive research and fellowship program! Our nurses work a Monday through Friday daylight shift. There is opportunity to work a flexible schedule including 8-, 9-, and 10-hour shifts! Our Nurses may also be required to travel to cover positions at Magee and McCandless locations.

The Professional Staff Nurse is a valued step in the UPMC nursing career ladder, with opportunities for continued growth and advancement. Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience. Six months experience is required for Professional Staff Nurses.
Responsibilities:
- Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulates daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.
- Demonstrates critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for the patient within an episode of care.
- Practices solid communication skills and can articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices. Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.
- Creates a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum six months experience required; 5 years of nursing experience HIGHLY preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Experience with EPIC Care preferred.
- Outpatient office experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
- UPMC approved national certification preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Act 34
