Description
Purpose:
UPMC Shadyside, Urgent Care in hiring full-time Diagnostic Tech working three 12-hour shifts per week allowing flexible work time off including rotating weekends and holiday. Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Sign-on bonus available. We will consider all levels of the career ladder.
Responsibilities:
- Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
- Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.
- Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.
- Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up-to-day protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and can cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
- Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
- Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
- Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Prefer experience in Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting
- Two (2) years Diagnostic experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- ARRT Certificate
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
