The Senior Human Resources Consultant is a regular, full-time position that works daylight hours, Monday through Friday.  A perk of this position includes flexible work arrangements that allow you to spend a portion of your work week at home!

The Senior Human Resources Consultant will provide employee relations support to our UPMC Corporate Services nursing workforce.  They assist with employee investigations, retention and engagement initiatives, performance planning, HR initiatives, and much more.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business objectives with employees and management, serving as a sr. business partner to management on HR-related issues and acts as a change agent. Accountable for managing and delivering HR programs and services within the organization
  • Partner with leaders to provide and implement HR initiatives that support management and employees across the organization.
  • Collaborate with HR team to design and plan interventions that facilitate organizational changes.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship within the HR department and oversee HR staff as needed.
  • Drive change management practices to enable organizational effectiveness and foster a diversity & inclusion strategy that will maximize our competitive advantage and skills of the workforce.
  • Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a 'One Team' collaborative atmosphere in which all functions of HR work together as one team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field and at least three years of employee relations experience required.
    • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of employee relations experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislation as it applies to human resources and the employment process is required.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
PHR, SPHR certification, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner Certification required within the first year of hire for external candidates. Internal applicants within UPMC HR are required to have the certification requirements in place to be considered for promotional opportunities.
