Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Part Time Concierge (Temporary) (Multiple Opportunities)

Description

UPMC Northwest is currently hiring multiple temporary Part Time Concierge to join their team!  This position will work varied shifts Monday through Friday from 4pm-8pm as well as a Saturday shift of 7am to 12 pm.

 

Purpose:
Patients, visitors, guests and vendors are welcomed, assisted and directed to appropriate areas of the hospital.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Checks on details to create pleasant environment for visitors and patients such as:piano playing.
  • Direct volunteers to meet needs of customers.
  • Apply technical skills and knowledge in a focused, in depth specialty area.
  • Actively cares for presentation of lobby areas. Keeps areas neat and tidy. Initiates response from support departments to keep areas clean.
  • Exhibit positive interpersonal skills, i.e. professionalism, integrity, follow-up oncommitments, respecting the viewpoints of others and accepting and supporting change.
  • Performs duties of concierge desk to meet needs of patients, family members, visitors and employees.
  • Proactively greet each patient/customer as they enter the entrance, determining thereason for visit, and anticipating and responding to customer needs, while presenting apositive image of the hospital, and treating all customers with care, courtesy, respect andconcern.
  • Prioritize and expedites patients to appropriate areas for treatment.
  • Communicate by using active listening skills, appropriate nonverbal communication,oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems through process analysis, communicationand innovative thinking to obtain optimum results.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by interacting with others to achieve goals while respectingindividuals differences, sharing credit and accountability for outcomes, and encouraging, supporting, and actively participating in work activities.
  • Promotes patient safety.
  • Demonstrates and maintains the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriatelevel of care to the ages of customers serviced including principles of growth anddevelopment. Assess and interpret data and information relative to the customer's age-specific needs as related to all ages of customers that present for treatment.

 

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent experience.Computer knowledge to access patient information.Customer service oriented behavior.Preferred: Prior experience in a customer service hospital or medical environment.Preferred: Medical terminology.
