Description
The UPMC Center for High-Value Health Care (the Center) is a non-profit research organization, housed within the UPMC Insurance Services Division (ISD), which focuses on innovations including optimizing clinical programs and payment models across the UPMC integrated health care delivery and financing system and building an extramural portfolio of research that holds promise for achieving the triple aim of improved health outcomes, reduced cost, and enhanced patient experience.
The Project Analyst reports to the Director of Research Design and Implementation and is responsible for supporting the research and program innovation activities of the Center, many of which will focus on maternal and child health initiatives, health disparities, and qualitative/mixed-methods research. This position will be responsible for monitoring, documenting, and reporting progress and performance for defined project objectives and measures as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of detailed project plans and deliverables.
An ideal candidate will have experience supporting the implementation of research studies and/or program evaluations, have a basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, be comfortable communicating and collaborating with diverse stakeholders both within and outside of UPMC ISD.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with members of UPMC management and staff regarding assigned projects
- Assist in the development of business cases, work plans, communications, etc.
- Maintain project documents within approved archival systems.
- Generate necessary project documentation, including meeting minutes, project deliverables, etc.
- Handle project administrative duties including scheduling requirements, SharePoint requirements, etc.
- Advise supervising Project Manager and others of pending due dates.
- Identify and help resolve potential issues and/or barriers which are critical to the success of a project.
- Conducts literature reviews and prepares summaries of relevant topics as assigned by Center team.
- Supports development of research grant/contract proposals and evaluation plans.
- Participates in development and implementation of research and program evaluation activities including, but not limited to, participant recruitment, data collection/entry, issuing participant payments, and monitors deliverables associated with projects in collaboration with the research team.
- Conducts qualitative interviews and supports qualitative data analysis; supports tracking of Center portfolio of qualitative work
- Tracks and monitors deliverables associated with externally funded projects in collaboration with research team.
- Participates in cross-departmental workgroup activities related to Center initiatives.
- Assists in the development of presentations, manuscripts, and other project deliverables.
Qualifications
- B.A. degree and 2 years experience (preferred)
- Masters degree highly preferred
- Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred
- Excellent computer skills required, including MS Office Suite
- Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required Very well organized and deadline conscious.
- Project Management knowledge and future potential to manage multiple projects required.
