Description
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment including generators, fire alarm, overhead paging system and nurse call.
- Inspect and test lighting, signal communication, control and power circuits and equipment.
- Install new wiring and electrical machinery.
- Isolate and repair/replace defective wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
- Operate and maintain switchgear and electrical machinery.
- Perform all work following infection control procedures.
- Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
- Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required. Military experience considered. 2 years experience as an Electrician working in a healthcare or commercial building environment.
