UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Marketing Analyst - Senior to support the Marketing Communucations Department for its downtown Pittsburgh location at the US Steel Tower. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position. This role has the opportunity to work remotely.
The Marketing Analytics Senior Analyst provides leadership and support to the development and delivery of strategic data-driven marketing solutions and intelligence to effectively and efficiently aggregate, analyze and synthesize data across campaigns, leads, opportunities, accounts and contacts to obtain reliable marketing analytics and customer insights while identifying opportunities to optimize channel effectiveness and improve ROI. The Marketing Analytics Senior Analyst must use their knowledge and expert understanding of demand generation data derived from numerous sources to meet business objectives by applying expertise in marketing automation, sales automation, and data integration/warehousing to develop, deliver, and manage workflows and data quality that powers traditional and digital marketing initiatives. These functions must be done while also weighing the practical considerations and potential barriers that need to be overcome to successfully implement new programs and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Use advanced analytical techniques to identify key drivers of campaign success and use this knowledge to optimize segmentation and channel utilization.
- Presents findings and recommendations to executives and other key internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Marketing Campaign Managers/Strategy Managers and other data experts across the enterprise (including IT) to assist in campaign execution to meet business goals.
- Support colleagues within Marketing and other functional areas of the business to rapidly apply your subject matter expertise to helping us expedite elimination of manual ETL efforts wherever possible in favor of direct integrations and complete automation between systems so that we may achieve always on marketing.
- Assist in developing new, and maintaining existing market automation and intelligence platform(s) and models to drive better analytics and reporting capabilities
- Develop baseline metrics with which to compare relative success of marketing campaigns.
- Perform additional ad hoc analysis as needed and other related duties as assigned.
- Leverages and integrates disparate data sources including external third party and internal data (member/employer/provider) sources.
- Strong understanding of all facets of the analytics process (strategy, tracking, reporting, analysis, actionable recommendations).
- Performs analyses and/or makes recommendations concerning marketing, engagement and customer experience strategy and tactics.
- Developing subject matter expert (SME) level understandings of campaign data sources, processes, systems, data standards, and data integration methods used to support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) functions across various marketing systems and platforms.
- Support marketing and engagement campaign-related activities from inception to implementation including defining targeting efforts and calculating ROI.
- Identify, evaluate and share views on competitive marketing campaign tactics.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent required.
- 4 years of experience in marketing, preferably analysis, market research, or related experience required.
- Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred, but those with relevant experience in other industries may be considered.
- Strong communication and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize data into actionable information.
- Superior computer skills with expert knowledge in Excel and SQL, experience with base SAS a plus
- Ability to use statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS or SAS) a plus
- Experience with marketing automation tools and data integration a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and forge strong interpersonal relationships within the department, with other departments, and with external audiences.
- Excellent planning, communication, documentation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm, and initiative on a daily basis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must. Experience working with minimal direction, with a keen ability to leverage business sense to guide decision-making.
