Description
Purpose:
Functions under the general direction of the Guest Relations Manager. Acts as initial contact with all customers. Greets, welcomes and provides information and assistance to patients, families, physicians, and associates at the hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Acts in a manner that supports UPMC's four core values of quality & safety, care & compassion, dignity & respect, and community.
- Act as initial contact with customers. Proactively greets and welcomes patients, families and visitors to the hospital and assists with way-finding, escorting, and information as requested.
- Demonstrates teamwork through interacting with others to achieve goals while respecting individual differences, sharing credit and accountability for outcomes, encouraging, supporting and actively participating in work activities.
- Demonstrates an ability to solve problems through process analysis, communication and innovative thinking to obtain optimum results. Responds to concerns, request, and complaints professionally and efficiently routes them to appropriate departments.
- Generates and completes all applicable forms and necessary communications and assists with paperwork in accordance with daily responsibilities.
- Takes ownership for surrounding workspaces and maintains them in a neat and tidy manner to promote a positive customer and guest experience.
- Stays updated on daily schedules for outpatient services providing visitors and patients with accurate and timely information.
- Acts as support for concierge and spiritual care services as needed.
- Assist with developing and maintaining hospitality services quality dash boards.
- Imaging Greeter Support keep various modalities alert of patient arrivals and arrive patients in Imagecast and Epic. Validate patient prescriptions against the scheduled test; alert the modality if there are discrepancies, Proactively address patient delays with patient and modality. Accurately review patient demographics and insurance on facesheet, and collect copay (if necessary)
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent, associate's degree or some college with focus in business or health care related field preferred
Two years of experience dealing with public or customer service.
Basic experience of windows software and medical terminology preferred. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills required.Must be professional, responsible and self-motivated.
