Description
Purpose:
STAT-MD is a physician driven service providing consultation services to commercial airlines. The Medical Coordinator is required to act as the initial point of contact and facilitator in obtaining and providing accurate information to the STAT-MD physician. The Medical Coordinator needs to process and coordinate information quickly, efficiently and proficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for taking one cover shift a week, unless meeting the criteria to be exempt. Responsible for training newly hired Medical Coordinators. Required to complete monthly statistics and reports to record report and maintain. Continuously work on
- Answer incoming calls to the STAT-MD Communication Center, determining the emergent or non-emergent nature of the call and processing per departmental guidelines.
- Accurately and efficiently maintain file documentation, including transcribing information received during consultations with the physician. All documentation must be completed by the end of each shift.
- Coordinate communications between clients, customers, facilities, physicians, and/or associated personnel.
- Participate in daily quality assurance reviews as directed making changes based on departmental guidelines.
- Contact and coordinate with the appropriate supervisor for unusual operations.
- Working knowledge of the multiple communication methods utilized in the department
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience in a health care setting, transfer center, or call center is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsComputer literacy / data entry skills

- Act 34
