Are you interested in a 4-day work week? UPMC Community Medicine is hiring a Regular, Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP (LPN)!
This position will travel between office locations in Butler Clearview, and Cranberry/Mars. Travel to all office locations is required as needed. Hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5pm. Four shifts per week with an additional day off during the week!
This position will support a fast-paced Multispecialty Practice with a focus on Musculoskeletal care. We have six offices and support over 40 providers in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physical Medicine, Rehab, and Rheumatology Services. In depth training program offered within all departments that the employee would be working in.
This position will primarily work with our sports medicine services and supporting Advanced Practice Providers in the office. Advanced Practice Providers consist of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Duties for this position include but not limited to rooming patients to include reviewing their past medical history/allergies/medications, drawing up injections, completing surgical packets, suture/staple removal, casting/splinting, discharging patients to include ordering diagnostic testing/physical therapy, and assisting APP’s with patient phone calls.
The ideal candidate would be organized, work well within a team environment, adaptable to change, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Assist Physicians with diagnostic procedures such as steroid injections by drawing up the medication and setting the injection up for the Advanced Practice Provider.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Selects and signs appropriate patient orders per provider verbal order.
- Assist team in answering phone messages with clear and concise information, and obtaining medication authorizations.
- Assists provider in back office clinical duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs and complete patient history, performs basic triage and assists with minor in office procedures to include applying and removing dressings.
- Performs a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, casts, and splints, distributing, and applying durable medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
