General Maintenance 2-Groundskeeper

As a General Maintenance 2 - Groundskeeper you will maintain landscape and grounds in accordance with established schedules and instructions. You are also responsible for all grounds keeping, including: landscaping/gardening, turf management, hard surface maintenance, litter control, etc.  

Candidate can select schedule - either Mon thru Friday 6a-2p or 4 week days & Saturday 2p-10p

This is a non-Union position

Will be responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the parking garages and equipment, employee parking lot, main hospital entrance exterior and public areas & curbs.


  • Perform proper care of landscape and grounds.
  • Operate equipment including lawn care, power washers i.e. weed eaters, edgers, mowers, sprayers, hoes, hand tools, motorized vehicles, etc., and related grounds equipment as required.
  • Perform maintenance in the indoor/outdoor gardens and litter control as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform power-washing and maintenance of hard surface paved areas, parking areas, sidewalks, etc.
  • Report outdoor campus safety concerns and aesthetic issues to supervisor in writing or electronic communication.
  • Perform all work following infection control procedures.
  • Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
  • Performs all duties as assigned.



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years general maintenance-related work experience OR completion of a trade school required.
  • Military experience considered.
  • Landscaping experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, etc. for extended periods and ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift shovel, etc. required. Must be able to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Must be able to work overtime or off-hours when necessary.
  • Must be able to accept flexible working hours and shifts and be available on an on-call basis for emergency responses.
  • May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Driver's License
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
