Description
UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Property & Casualty Analyst to help support the WorkPartners Workers Compensation department for its downtown Pittsburgh location at the US Steel Tower. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position. This position will assist the Statutory Accounting team with the annual filings and assist with filing of Data Calls to government entities (PCRB, DCRB, NCCI, etc.) The ideal candidate will have experience with Property and Casualty Accounting for Workers Compensation.
This position will be a HYBRID role (in-office and work-from-home) and the ideal candidate would be in the Pittsburgh, PA region.
Responsibilities:
- Annual Statements:Assisting the Statutory Accounting team with the annual filingsReview of finalized statements to ensure accuracyProper accounting for Property and Casualty companies will assist with data call comparisons
- Data Calls:Assist with filing of Data Calls to government entities (PCRB, DCRB, NCCI, etc.)Utilization of Microsoft Excel and Access to navigate large data setsOrganizational skills to ensure all state deadlines are met
- Audit Requests:Assist external auditors and Statutory Accounting team with satisfying the inquiries related to Workers? Compensation DataWill be the main point of contact with Financial Compliance and work to stay current on SOX Compliance Controls
- Expansion Plans:Work with Compliance to ensure new regulations are documented and accounted for in daily operationsCreation of Pro Forma balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow projections; documentation of proper deposits on file; meeting capital requirements; and financial narratives
Qualifications
- B.A. degree in accounting, finance, business, mathematics, statistics, health care, management or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive related experience will be considered.
- Four (4) years experience in financial and/or property & casualty analysis
- Prior experience with statutory accounting and/or with Property and Casualty Accounting for Workers Compensation is required
- Financial Data Call experience
- Excel expertise (Access knowledge a plus)
- Superior computer skills with expert knowledge in Access, Excel, and other financial & statistical software packages.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm and initiative on a daily basis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and forge strong interpersonal relationships within the department, with other departments, and with external audiences.
- Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position, with demonstrated competency in customer orientation and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
