UPMC is looking to add a new Educational Technology Specialist to join their team and help support video production within UPMC’s Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER)

Purpose:
The Educational Technology Specialist will support the development, planning, and production of curriculum media at the Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER). The incumbent assures that established standards of quality and performance are upheld with the overall goals and activities of WISER. The Educational Technology Specialist focuses on working closely with the Director of Educational Development and course authors to develop high quality photos, videos, and interactive learning modules to be used at WISER as well as other UPMC activities affiliated with WISER.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce photos and videos using digital cameras and photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere to be included in educational content for WISER’s educational programs. Help to coordinate filming and photography for onsite and remote classes. Provide multi-media support for educational programming, by creating PowerPoint presentations and converting to videos or learning modules as requested.
  • Works with Course Directors, faculty, and WISER to staff to support educational programs.  Coordinates the editing, development and delivery of digital training and website materials. Oversees the archiving and storage of digital recordings.
  • Supports WISERs mission and works to ensure that all work is in conformance with standards set forth by the appropriate accrediting bodies for a course. Assists WISER Educational Development staff with developing/revising system processes and procedures. Communicates and collaborates with hospital personnel, administrators, community, and professional leaders in a professional manner to facilitate customer relations and to maintain a reputation of excellence.
  • Assumes responsibility for self-direction in professional activities in order to promote professional and personal development.  Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.  Ability to meet deadlines is essential.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Education, Digital Media, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an education/technology function or related role.
  • Experience with video production, education technology, and/or instructional media design.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop).
  • The Educational Technology Specialist is a person with a set of skills that includes attention to detail, project management, and strong oral and written communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional design is preferred.
  • Not required but any experience with Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, and Vyond would be a nice bonus attribute
